Summer 2014: FIT & One Direction

So this summer has been really eventful. If you follow me on social media then you might have seen a glimpse of what I've been doing these past few weeks.

FIT

During the month of July I took 2 classes at the Fashion Institute of technology. This was my second my summer there and it could by my last unless I decide to go back next fall. My experience overall was amazing! The classes I attended were: Advertising and Marketing Communications and International Fashion Marketing.
I met so many new amazing people and learned a lot new things about the fashion industry. Each class had a final project that took a lot of work. For my advertising class we had to create a campaign for a an advertisement we didn't like was well as recreate the ad. This was my favorite project, and I worked really hard on it. It all payed off because I ended getting an A on for my project.
My Fashion marketing class involved a lot of writing and studying. We had two exams! For our final project, I was in a group and we had to market a J.Crew store in Colombia.

I made so many memories and tried so many new things this past month. Strangely the thing I miss the most through all of this is the commute. I loved sitting on the train listening to music with an iced coffee in my hand and getting out of penn station to be greeted by the city! I'm also missing all the different restaurants to grab lunch in Manhattan.
Since I couldn't post those few weeks, here are some photos of my adventures!

First Day OOTD
One Direction
The highlight of summer, year would have to be the night of August 5, 2014.
The night I saw One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer live!
If you've followed my blog for a while, you might know that I am a HUGE fan of One Direction as well as 5sos (my 17th birthday was 1D themed and i have so many posts named after their songs) I'm still in such shock that this night actually happened. This was my first concert EVER.
I love both these bands so much and I'm so thankful that I got the opportunity to see them live.
Instead of going through the whole night (which would take way too long) I'll just tell you the highlights.
  • 5 seconds of summer performed first and I lost my mind during She Looks So Perfect. But my favorite song live was definitely Heartbreak girl
  • One Direction's performance was beyond amazing. There were no words to describe that show. My favorite songs that were sung live are :Rock Me, Live While we're young,Story of my life and Happily.
  • Throughout the concert fireworks went off and it was so great
Here are some photos of the concert!

I'm still SO upset that halfway through the concert my phone ran out of memory so I didn't get many photos of One Direction!

So these were the highlights of my summer. School is coming soon so I hope everyone has a great summer!

Denim Joggers

Hi loves!  My summer in NYC at FIT is over. I'm also currently in the process of moving so my internet has been unavailable. But besides that, my summer has been a blast. Summer is sadly coming to a close. So I'm trying to get as much use of of my crop tops as possible.

I've loved the "jogger" trend since the start of the year. I also love acid wash jeans. So why not take a risk and combine the two?

All Black Everything

Happy Friday! It's been a pretty hectic week for me. This was the first week of my summer at FIT and despite all the school work, it's been amazing! My main priority when it comes to dressing in the city is comfort. Something along the lines of what's in this outfit. The main focus being my shoes. Sports sandals may not be the first thing that comes to mind, but rest assured they are extremely comfortable and effortlessly chic.

Hat & Necklace: Forever 21// Skirt: Forever 21 // Top: H&M
Sandals: Adidas
The key to making this look work is to keep the entire outfit casual so that the sandals aren't the main focus but a simple addition to the whole look.

Watercolor

There's always that extra girly feeling when you're in a skater skirt.I have a few of these skirts but they're all solid colors. So I was really excited when I picked up this watercolor skirt form Wetseal.
It really captures the essence of spring with all the different pastel colors on it.

Style on a Budget: Summer Shoes Under $40

With summer on it's way I'm positive we're all anticipating the return of warmer weather and spending our days under the sun. I am all about finding great things for a great price. After all I'm still in high school so i can't really buy shoes worth $500. So i created a list of fabulous shoes all under $40! (ahh that price just makes me happy) This is for all you style savvy people who like to get the most of their money.
1- Low heeled sandal-  (Go Jane// $20.80) I'm not much of a sandal person. They're a tricky shoe to buy in my opinion. These are an exception. White for summer is very classic and the chain strap gives an added edgy vibe. All for twenty dollars!

2- Platform Sneakers- (Asos // $38.11) I myself am completely in love with the platform trend. I've searched far and wide for the perfect pair. Summer is a time for adventure and we all need a reliable pair of shoes. These have a not so subtle print that really stands out. For just under $40

3- Caged sandal- (Lulus // $21.00) This style of shoe is not for everyone. I've viewed some mixed opinions on the caged shoe. I happen to love them and I've seen many for over 100 dollars in various stores. They're a great shoe if you want to add something different to your look, For only $21.

4- Strappy Heels- (Lulus // $22.00) This pair of shoes are one of the most worn of the moment. From celebs like Jennifer Lawrence to fashion bloggers; they've been worn everywhere on many different occasions. Daytime parties to a night in the city, they're versatile and are a must have of the season. For just $22

Summer to Fall Transitions

My fall clothes are slowly making their way out of my closet and onto my seasons clothing rack.
The perfect way to still keep the summer alive is to add a a pair of tights to your summer essentials, (high waisted shorts, dresses etc).

Striped Sweater

I have definitely been taking advantage of these chilly summer days. The season is slowly dwindling down and it brings us closer to hot chocolate and colorful leaves!

The best time to wear a striped sweater... is all the time! I love this outfit because I feel like I'm wearing shiny jewels because of these pants. And lets face it, the more sparkles the better!

Army Green with Envy

My most recent post this week has been a haul of my purchases made the past weekend. If you haven't seen it yet it's probably because you aren't subscribed! You can do so by the right, and stay up to date with more posts like this!
My favorite purchase should probably be worn in the fall with some knee-high boots, but for some odd reason I decided to try  it out with the summer weather. I wore it in the morning, which is obviously always cooler than the rest of the day and managed pretty well.
