2013: Year in Reflection

The year is slowly coming to a close and I thought it would be exciting to go through my favorite posts of the year- the photos you haven't seen. There are more silly and photos where I messed up than actual normal photos.
(If you want to see the entire post where I look normal click the photo's caption!)

Girly Meets Edgy

Perfect Pleated Leather Skirt

Sassy Snake Print

Before, getting all sappy I would just like to acknowledge that 2013 was friggin' awesome. Though it had many ups and just as many downs, I won't forget the people I came across and the memories I've made. I feel like a totally different person than when this year began. 2014 has a lot to live up to.

WInter Essentials

The weather yesterday was insane. It snowed all day yesterday and on sunday! So since it's pretty obvious that winter is on it's way I decided to share everything that is definitely a must have, this upcoming winter season.

Bright Coat, Over the knee socks, knee high boots, collared button down top, turtleneck crop top.

  1. Personally, I love anything with a bright color. But specifically this season, a bright coat has been in more demand than ever!
  2. Over the knee boots seem to always add something extra in a somewhat bland outfit. When the winter weather is forcing you to wear the warmest of clothes, you'll still look cute with a pair of these.
  3. No matter how cold it is, I will will wear a skirt. That's just how I am. But it's nice knowing that instead of wearing tights, you can wear some thick socks!
  4. Button down tops are great! Sure they look nice alone, but layered under a warm sweater is an added bonus. Extra warmth while perfectly achieving the preppy look!
  5. Yes, there is a way to wear crop tops in the winter.. Just make sure it has long sleeves!

September Favorites

October is upon us and the month of September is finally coming to a close. In order to welcome in the new month, I thought I'd share the things I've been loving this past month. Too make room for even more favorites!

Marc Jacobs- Dot. I cannot express my emotions into words. I love anything Marc Jacobs, and this scent has to be my most loved item I own. For more about this perfume, read more here.

Recently, I've been loving the simplicity of wearing minimal jewelry. So these 2 items I've been wearing repeatedly. If you look close enough, I'm most likely wearing these in each post this month. Check out where I got this ring!

These shoes I have been practically living in. There so easy to style and amazingly comfortable to spend your entire day in!
See how I styled the cutout pair from Asos here!
See how I styled the pointed flats from Zara here!

One of my favorite trends from this year have been black and white.
This dress is an easy way to style this trend! And you can never go wrong with a leather skirt...
To see how I styled this skirt, read more here!

Estee Lauder- Rasberry Pop Sparkle
Makeup is the final accessory to any look! This lip gloss has been on my lips nearly everyday this month! It is the perfect pink color!

Essie -Ballet Slippers
You can never go wrong with pink nail polish! I actually don't really like bright, neon pink colors. So this soft pink is just what I like!

Fashion & Inspiration: Massage Therapy

Welcome to my new segment: Fashion & Inspiration!

I've come across a lot of people in my life who inspire me in many ways, as well have as having an amazing sense of style! This new part of my blog is going to feature interviews with different people who aren't  in fashion related jobs/businesses but remain stylish and stand out to me most! This week it's my fabulous cousin Amaryllis.

Like the flower, she's obviously beautiful. She is a massage therapy student and a lover of all things hello kitty. She lives to make others feel good and is working on making that her future. She is who she is. She isn't afraid to be herself and go after what she wants. The same goes along with fashion, with Gothic elements within her wardrobe Amaryllis has a unique style all her own and is confident when leaving her front door.

Lucky In Lavender: Considering your future goals, what do you think would be your typical attire on a day to work?

Amaryllis: Definitely some scrubs with some cartoon characters on it. Most likely Hello Kitty!

Lucky In Lavender: Since you're in school right now, what do you usually wear?

Amaryllis: We wear uniforms but we can wear our own shoes! Like boots, flats and cute sandals!

Lucky In Lavender: What made you choose massage therapy?

Amaryllis: I like helping people, and if I know I'm making them feel better that makes me happy.

Lucky In Lavender: Favorite Style Icon?

Amaryllis: Elvira and Morticia.

Lucky In Lavender: Something in your closet you wouldn't be able to live without?

Amaryllis: Dresses! All types of dresses.

Lucky In Lavender: Now this is the age of social media, whats your favorite app!

Amaryllis: Instagram!

Back To School: Outfit Ideas

For me, picking my outfit for school can be the hardest task of the day. If you're like me, and you never know what to wear here are some outfits to take inspiration from!

Outfit 1: Preppy
 Top:Forever 21//
Shorts: Forever 21// Shoes:JcPenny

Dressing up for school can be easy with shorts that also look like a skirt! This pair of shorts seem to always be mistaken for a skirt. The anchor and oxford shoe combo makes it look polished.
Outfit #2: Grunge
Top: Forever 21//
Skirt: Vintage// Shoes:JcP

The key creating a grunge look is adding one specific element, leather. A pair of ankle booties help as well. My top stating the words 'freak out' seem to add more rebellion to the look.
 Outfit #3: Mixing Patterns
Top: Body Central//Jeans: Century 21//
Shoes: Minnetonka// Belt: Target

When mixing patterns it's best to stay within the same color schemes. But this look has too much gray and black so to separate the bland colors I added a neon green belt for a pop of color.
Hope you enjoyed these looks!

Fall 2013 Beauty Trends To Try

This season, there are so many beauty products and trends to try out but some can be very intimidating. But have no fear, here are a few looks to try and master.

The Bold Lip: This trend is known for the fall season. Fall is the season for darker shades of clothing and darker shades on your lips.

Photo: Maine.stylist.com
Strong Brows: Seen before on many models, this trend is one of the easiest to recreate. From just filling in sparse areas in your brows during your makeup routine, take the next step and shape them longer and darker.

Colorful Mascara: This is the season for colorful eyes. A subtle color along your lashes can instantly add some spunk to your look.

Sleek Pony: This chic hairdo looks best in a high pony tail. It's very simple but requires high maintenance. If your hair is frizzy like mine, don't wear this on a humid day.

 The right Products to use:

1. Maybelline Great lash
2. Tresemme Anti-Frizz Spray
3.Smashboc Be Legendary Lipstick
3. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder

Hope you try out some of these trends!

Must Haves For Fall 2013!

Here is yet another post about how I just wish fall would begin! If you're wondering, "What can I buy to complete my fall wardrobe?". Then look no further, here are some trends that you should try and what to wear to complete the look!

Punk:  This trend has come back out of the 70s-80's era and is back for good. A simple way to complete this trend is simply wearing more leather and more plaid. Also, investing in a pair of leather boots, such as these bright pink Doc Martens.

Patterns: It's not that hard to wear patterns. Its also very much okay to even mix patterns. The key is to wear the same color scheme, or different sizes of the patterns.

The Trench Coat: This is a classic and keeping it in a neutral tone is easier to pair with other accessories.

Graphic Hats:   This has been seen on many celebrities and models such as Cara Delevingne. This trend is also very easy and a great to show everyone confidence.
